Is UK-Iran marine incident part of larger war provocation plan?

Larry Chin | Online Journal

The Bush administration and its allies (notably the UK and Israel governments) have been planning to attack Iran as early as spring 2007. It is not surprising that yet another fabricated pretext is being used to set it up.

Were the 15 British sailors who were captured and detained by Iran involved in a criminal espionage operation, in Iranian waters, in the process of setting up a Gulf of Tonkin-style pretext for war? Or were they captured by Iranian forces in Iraqi waters (as claimed by London), as a defensive political maneuver, in response to American and British covert provocations that have been ongoing for months, and continuing to escalate?

Russian official says US will be ready to strike Iran in April

John Byrne | Raw Story

A report filed today by the Russian News agency RIA Novosti indicates that Russian intelligence has information that the U.S. Armed Forces have nearly completed preparations for a possible military operation against Iran, and will be ready to strike in early April.

Citing "a security official, the article alleges the U.S. had already compiled a list of possible targets on Iranian territory and practiced the operation during recent exercises in the Persian Gulf. The report aligns with previous reports by The New Yorker and RAW STORY surrounding buildup towards a possible strike.

I fart in your general direction

Xymphora

Suddenly, out of the blue, everybody knows the truth.

Iran farts in the general direction of Tony Blair:
“You don't frighten us, English pig-dog! Go and boil your bottoms, son of a silly person. I blow my nose on you, so-called Arthur-king, you and your silly English kiniggets.
I don't want to talk to you, no more, you empty-headed animal, food trough wiper. I fart in your general direction. You mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries.”
The Iranians know what I’ve been saying for months and months and months, that the talk of a war against Iran is an American bluff. The Iranians intend to drive a wedge between Tony and the neocons, and are succeeding brilliantly. More...

A Monstrous War Crime

Richard Horton | The Guardian

Our collective failure has been to take our political leaders at their word. This week the BBC reported that the government's own scientists advised ministers that the Johns Hopkins study on Iraq civilian mortality was accurate and reliable, following a freedom of information request by the reporter Owen Bennett-Jones. This paper was published in the Lancet last October. It estimated that 650,000 Iraqi civilians had died since the American and British led invasion in March 2003.

Immediately after publication, the prime minister's official spokesman said that the Lancet's study "was not one we believe to be anywhere near accurate". The foreign secretary, Margaret Beckett, said that the Lancet figures were "extrapolated" and a "leap". President Bush said: "I don't consider it a credible report". More...

911: Can You Handle The Truth?

Russell Gentile

9-11 is one of the most infamous days of our current time. Many people experienced the events of that day with surprise, shock, sadness, and anger. I am one of them. All of these emotions clouded my judgment until I early on discovered an entire, very credible counter culture for lack of a better term that from almost day one has researched and opposed the official government story parroted by the mainstream. This counter culture that involves people and experts from all walks of life has been mostly unable to get an honest spirited debate in the mainstream without being labeled nut cases and anti-American. Why is this?

DENIAL AND DISMISSAL
In my study of the events of that fateful day, I have encountered two primary reasons why most people dismiss an engaging debate on the subject:
1. The Government cannot do anything right let alone keep a grand conspiracy like this under wraps
2. George Bush, as hated as he is, especially by the liberal media would incite responses/investigations from those in the media to expose him for being part of it. More...

WTC Blueprints Leaked by Whistleblower
Unseen documents show official investigations used flawed construction details

Steve Watson | Infowars.net

A whistleblower that was on a team working for Silverstein Group in 2002 has made public an extensive set of detailed architectural drawings of the World Trade Center, that prove beyond any doubt that the official reports into the collapse of the towers misrepresented their construction.

The documents were passed to physics Professor Steven Jones, formerly of Brigham Young University, who has done extensive research into the collapse of the buildings and contends that explosives were used to bring them down.

Little is known about the identity of the whistleblower at this point, however the blueprints provided consist of 261 drawings included detailed plans for the North Tower (WTC 1), the World Trade Center foundation and basement, and the TV mast on top of the North Tower.

Most of the drawings can be viewed here. More...

Terrorized by 'War on Terror'
How a Three-Word Mantra Has Undermined America

By Zbigniew Brzezinski | Washington Post

...It stimulated the emergence of a culture of fear. Fear obscures reason, intensifies emotions and makes it easier for demagogic politicians to mobilize the public on behalf of the policies they want to pursue. The war of choice in Iraq could never have gained the congressional support it got without the psychological linkage between the shock of 9/11 and the postulated existence of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction. Support for President Bush in the 2004 elections was also mobilized in part by the notion that "a nation at war" does not change its commander in chief in midstream. The sense of a pervasive but otherwise imprecise danger was thus channeled in a politically expedient direction by the mobilizing appeal of being "at war." More...

Iran ‘to try Britons for espionage’

By Uzi Mahnaimi, Michael Smith and David Cracknell

FIFTEEN British sailors and marines arrested by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards off the coast of Iraq may be charged with spying.

A website run by associates of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian president, reported last night that the Britons would be put before a court and indicted.

Referring to them as “insurgents”, the site concluded: “If it is proven that they deliberately entered Iranian territory, they will be charged with espionage. If that is proven, they can expect a very serious penalty since according to Iranian law, espionage is one of the most serious offences.”

Government Misconduct, Not Truthers, Most Insulting to 9/11 Heroes, Victims
Toxic air, abuse of recovery process and pothole scandal is the real disgrace

Paul Joseph Watson | Prison Planet

A popular tactic to shut down debate on behalf of debunkers is to claim that asking questions about the official 9/11 story is insulting to the victims, and yet it is the progenitors of that myth, the government itself, that through its post-9/11 actions has inflicted the most misery and suffering upon ground zero heroes and victims.

Frothing Neo-Con attack dogs like Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity, along with high profile 9/11 truth TV and newspaper hit pieces put out by the BBC and their ilk, have all regurgitated the emotional rhetoric that having skepticism towards the official 9/11 fairy tale is a direct attack on the memories of those lost on 9/11 and their loved ones. TV Evangelist John Hagee Wants War With Iran, and He Wants It Now!

By Bill Barnwell | Lewrockwell.com

If anyone still thinks that the radical end-times "prophecy" movement is not a threat to peace and stability, think again. At the popular level, in terms of the TV preachers and the hot-selling prophecy books, the dispensational pre-trib stuff still reigns supreme. Most conservative-leaning Evangelical churches in America today are heavily influenced by popular dispensational theology to some extent. Even churches and pastors that don’t teach pretribulationalism still are influenced by dispensationalism to varying degrees.

The most dangerous element of this prophetic paradigm, however, is its doom-and-gloom view of the world. And in most cases, those who have a fascination with the end of the world have a particular fascination with war and militarism as well. More problematic, it assumes that their wars of choice are not just their own foreign policy preferences or personal opinions. Rather they are ordained by God. More...

The 9/11 lie is in critical condition

StopTheLie.com

There was a time, not long ago, when daring to question the official account of 9/11 was risky business. One was almost guaranteed to be attacked as a "crazy person" or a "traitor" or a "terrorist sympathizer." Times have changed. At this point, less than 20% of the population believes they were given the full truth regarding 9/11. Logically one might ask: "Why is that?"

It wasn't for lack of trying that the government failed in its propaganda campaign. It wasn't for lack of "helping hands" in the mainstream media. (Though even that support has begun to fall apart.) No, it was one thing and one thing only that caused hundreds of millions of American citizens to openly question the official account of 9/11; the evidence. More...

O'Reilly's Foxing Of Facts Knows No Bounds
What torture? What dead Iraqis? What protests? What war?

Steve Watson | Infowars.net

Bill O'Reilly's pathetic attempts to counter Sunsara Taylor of anti-war organisation "The World Can't Wait" on his show this week again reveal how Fox News and other Neocon media outlets like it exist purely to silence anyone who criticizes the Bush Administration on any issue.

O'Reilly exposed his own agenda to simply denounce everything any critic ever says as being wrong or untrue, by suggesting that Ms Taylor claimed the government has tortured children by crushing their testicles. O'Reilly went on to denounce Taylor as an unpatriotic and accused her of slander.

It was clear to anyone with half a brain that Taylor was referring to comments previously made by Bush attorney John Yoo, co author of the PATRIOT ACT and various controversial torture advocating memos. More...

The Media's Castration During the Bush Presidency

The Ostroy Report

The obligation of the media is to represent the people by serving as its watchdog over government. The bedrock of democracy is an educated, knowledgeable populace. As such, free press informs the public, holds leaders accountable, and provides a forum for debate of local and national issues. Freedom of the press is therefore a non-negotiable, fundamental prerequisite for a functional democracy.
But since 2000, in the most secretive, media-hostile administration in our nation's history, the mainstream media has been neutered like a six-month old Labrador. It's allowed the Busheviks to rape the constitution with impunity, making a mockery of our sacred rule of law and turning the United States into a near Monarchy. As anyone who watches a White House press conference can attest to, the press fears speaking out against Bush, who has gotten a free pass for six years now despite having a presidency wrought with lies, corruption and miserable failure. And it's Americans who suffer as a result. If not for the advent of blogging and the power of 'netroots reporting, Bush would truly be king, and our citizenry would be completely ignorant of the truth. More...

When they’re dissembling, they’re lying

By Steve | Crooks and Liars

Kevin Drum summarized the White House’s principal political problem with the purge scandal extremely well today.
They’ve now had nearly two months to come up with a simple, clear, understandable explanation for why they chose those eight to fire but not the others. So what is it? And why has it taken such an interminable amount of internal chaos to come up with something?

People aren’t stupid. If there were a simple, innocent explanation we would have heard it in January. The fact that the president of the United States held a press conference eight weeks after this issue first hit the media and still didn’t have a plausible story to tell suggests pretty strongly that there is no plausible story to tell.
It’s an important point about this scandal, which is probably helping drive the media’s interest. The White House, and its vaunted communications office, has had eight weeks to come up with a plausible explanation. What have we heard? The Bush gang said a purge like this is normal and routine. It wasn’t. They said Clinton did the same thing. He didn’t. They said the U.S. Attorneys serve at the pleasure of the president, which is true, but doesn’t offer any substantive explanation why these specific U.S. Attorneys had to go. More...

The Jewish People, Zionism, and the Question of Justice

Mark Braverman, Ph.D | Qumsiyeh

When I was a boy in the 1950s attending Hebrew School in Philadelphia, we would receive little cardboard folders with slots for dimes distributed by the Jewish National Fund. On the cover was a picture of a tree being planted by handsome, tanned people in shorts. When the card was full, you sent it in and in return received a certificate with your name on and a bigger picture of a tree, which was the tree you had planted in Israel. It was fun and it was a thrill – I was reclaiming the homeland. I saw pictures of kibbutzim and orange groves filling the valleys and dreamt of going there someday.

Four decades later, now a middle-aged man, I saw pictures of Israeli bulldozers uprooting three hundred year-old olive trees and Jewish soldiers restraining Arab villagers crying hysterically over the destruction of their groves. I traveled to the West Bank – Israeli occupied Palestine – and saw the hillsides denuded of trees to build concrete Jewish settlement cities. I saw Arab houses leveled and gardens taken to make way for a 30 foot-high concrete wall cutting through Palestinian cities and village fields. I saw that this was wrong. I didn’t buy the story that this was for defense. I could see that it was a lie. More...

Bush bans Rove from testifying under oath

Michael Gawenda, Washington

US PRESIDENT George Bush and the Democrat-controlled Congress are heading for a major constitutional confrontation after Mr Bush said he would refuse to allow Karl Rove, his closest political adviser, to testify before a congressional committee investigating the sacking of eight US federal attorneys.

Mr Bush said the threat by senior Democrats to subpoena Mr Rove and former White House counsel Harriet Miers to explain their roles in the sackings was an attempt to set up "show trials".

"We will not go along with a partisan fishing expedition aimed at honourable public servants," he said in a hastily called televised news conference. More...

Bush defends offer to allow Rove, Miers testimony behind closed doors; Will block any efforts to subpoena White House officials

Ron Brynaert | Raw Story.com

On Tuesday evening, President Bush backed his beleaguered Attorney General, Alberto Gonzales, and defended a White House offer to allow "behind closed doors" testimony by Karl Rove and Harriet Miers regarding the firing of eight US Attorneys. Bush said that he would block any efforts to subpoena White House officials.

In his address, Bush proclimed his administration's disclosure of an "unprecedented" number of documents showing how the firing of those U.S. attorneys was handled. He went on to defend that process.

"There is no indication that anybody did anything improper," said Bush, asserting that Democrats were more interested in "scoring political points" than in constructing an honest account of the firings. The president accused Democrats of trying to mount a "partisan fishing expedition." More...

KSM Deconstructed

KurtNimmo.com

Raw Story journalist Larisa Alexandrovna has noted a rather glaring problem with the KSM “confession”: he claims to have targeted the Plaza Bank in Washington state—however the bank was not founded until well after KSM was supposedly captured and interned at Camp Gitmo. “I think we can say for quite certain that whomever is being held as KSM was either caught recently or that his entire confession is a fraud,” concludes Alexandrovna.

Or, more likely, there is no KSM—certainly not as presented—as there is no longer an Osama or al-Zarqawi, and more likely the story of superman-like terror activity on KSM’s part is in fact contrived nonsense, engineered strictly for public consumption. KSM is a Muslim Freddy Krueger, the bastard son of Pentagon intelligence, the Office for Special Propaganda and Machiavellian Nightmares. More...

KSM "Confessed" To Attacking Bank Founded After His Arrest
Fallacy of testimony exposed as story blows up in Pentagon's face

Paul Joseph Watson | Prison Planet

Khalid Shaikh Mohammed's alleged confession testimony has been thoroughly discredited after it emerged that one of the targets he identified, the Plaza Bank, was not founded until 2006, four years after the alleged Al-Qaeda mastermind's arrest.

In his confession, KSM claims, "I was responsible for planning, training, surveying, and financing for the New (or Second) Wave of attacks against the following skyscrapers after 9/11: ...Plaza Bank, Washington state."

KSM was arrested in March 2003. According to the Plaza Bank's website, the organization was founded in early 2006, making it impossible for KSM to have even known of the bank's existence before 2003, never mind plotted against it.

Skepticism about the legitimacy of KSM's confession has gushed forth from all quarters, leaving the credibility of the Pentagon and the process of military tribunals in ruins and provoking additional questions about why the alleged Al-Qaeda mastermind admitted to involvement in such a vast range of plots. KSM: The Ultimate Patsy "Confesses"
Go back to sleep, you can trust a press release from a heavily redacted secret military tribunal of a tortured detainee conducted by individuals representative of an oligarchy whose every deception, gross violation of U.S. law, and act of imperial bloodletting over the last six years rests on maintaining the orthodoxy of the official 9/11 myth

Paul Joseph Watson | Prison Planet

Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the alleged "Al-Qaeda mastermind," has confessed to direct involvement in a myriad of terrorist attacks and assassination plots around the world, including 9/11 "from A to Z," but some are likely to be disappointed that after 5 years of torture he stopped short of accepting responsibility for killing Kennedy, creating AIDS and being the real Santa Claus.

The Pentagon's press release was subject to editing on behalf of the U.S. Defense Department to remove any sensitive material that Khalid might have unwittingly revealed between his water boarding sessions, but I'm sure we can trust this same gaggle of criminals that lectured us on WMD and "accidentally" misplaced over 2 trillion dollars.

In the document, KSM confesses to almost every nasty thing that's happened in the world over the past twenty years, as well as formulating plots to assassinate Clinton, Carter and the Pope. It's just a shame that the torture masters were not given more time to really put the screws to Khalid, because then we may have found out that he was also responsible for the Challenger disaster and the O.J. Simpson murders. More...

Forrest Gump of Manufactured Terrorism Confesses from Gitmo Dungeon

KurtNimmo.com

“Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has admitted responsibility for the 9/11 attacks and a catalog of other terrorist acts, according to an edited transcript of a tribunal at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba,” reports CNN, reading, as usual, from a Pentagon script. “The transcript … lists operations Mohammed acknowledges responsibility for, including Richard Reid’s attempted shoe bombing of an airliner over the Atlantic, the Bali, Indonesia, nightclub bombing and the 1993 World Trade Center attack.”

“Stupid is as stupid does,” declared Forrest Gump, the mentally challenged character of Robert Zemeckis’ film by the same name, who experienced numerous historical and cultural events firsthand. In likewise fashion, we are expected to believe Khalid Sheikh Mohammed masterminded many high profile terrorist events, including financially backing his nephew Ramzi Yousef’s 1993 World Trade Center bombing, the Operation Bojinka plot, a 2002 West Coast plot to attack Los Angeles’ U.S. Bank Tower, the murder of journalist Daniel Pearl, in addition to the above enumerated. Dick Cheney's warped vision of the world

Glenn Greenwald

In his speech to the AIPAC convention yesterday, Dick Cheney laid out his thirst for literally endless war -- and his equally intense aversion to war-avoidance -- as unabashedly as can be. The towering question which America faces is whether it wants to continue to embrace this bloodthirsty and truly crazed vision (which many leading presidential candidates seem to share), or whether we want to repudiate it fundamentally. This is what lies at the core of Cheney's world view:
An enemy that operates in the shadows and views the entire world as a battlefield is not one we can fight with strategies used in other wars. An enemy with fantasies of martyrdom is not going to sit down at a table for negotiations. Nor can we fight to a standoff -- (applause). Nor can we fight to a standoff, hoping that some form of containment or deterrence will protect our people. The only option for our security and survival is to go on the offensive, facing the threat directly, patiently and systematically, until the enemy is destroyed. (Applause.)

Zionists in South Africa Target Its Muslims

The current South African intelligence service is headed by Ronnie Kasrils who is himself a Jew but a critic of Israeli policies towards Palestinians.

There are however number of others in the intelligence service who are Zionists and who use South Africa’s resources to further their own twisted agenda.

One of their goals is to promote Islamophobia in South Africa and to turn the black politicians and elites against Muslims who have been in South Africa for almost 400 years and played a major role in the Anti-Apartheid movement. More...

The last thing we need
The new US command for Africa will militarise the continent and inflame a string of regional conflicts

Salim Lone | The Guardian

For decades, Africa has pleaded in vain for a comprehensive engagement from the west on the basis of shared interests, particularly in the economic arena. But the new engagement the continent has been offered, in the form of a military US command, is the last thing the world's most impoverished continent needs.

The decision to establish Africom, as the command will be known, reflects the Bush administration's primary reliance on the use of force to pursue its strategic interests. Among the key goals for the new command, for example, is the assurance of oil imports from Africa, which have assumed much greater importance given the hostility to the US presence in the Middle East. The first trial of Saddam was for signing death warrants of 148 people in Dujail.. They had a three-year comprehensive trial and were found guilty of treason and attempted assassination. Cheney tells AIPAC that Congressional antiwar strategy is 'undermining' US troops

Ron Brynaert | Raw Story

The vice president then spoke of the "mind-set" of terrorists.

"Civilized, decent societies will never fully understand the kind of mind-set that drives men to strap on bombs or fly airplanes into buildings, all for the purpose of killing unsuspecting men, women and children who they have never met and who have done them no wrong, but that is the very kind of blind, prideful hatred we're up against," Cheney said. 'Anti-Semitism is blamed for furore over Lord Levy'

As the man at the centre of the most high-profile political scandal for years, Lord Levy has enjoyed precious few public expressions of support in recent weeks.

But yesterday the peer found comfort in the form of his many allies in London's Jewish community as a succession of voices claimed that a witchhunt against him was being fuelled partly by anti-Semitism.

Sir Alan Sugar, the Amstrad tycoon and hard-hitting star of the reality television series The Apprentice, said he feared that Lord Levy would be made a "scapegoat" in the police investigation into the cash-for-honours affair.

The famously outspoken businessman claimed that some attacks were being made in newspapers with a record of being "negative" about Jews and Asians. "I think they rub it in when either the Asian or the Jewish community get themselves into some form of trouble," he said.

Lord Levy's rabbi, Yitzchak Schochet, writing in The Jewish Chronicle, denounced "the blatant nastiness in some of the tabloids and the recent seeming trial by media". More...

Is there a causal link between British military intervention in the Muslim world and terrorism by Muslims in Bitain? That is a vital question. After all, the government is never done telling us that it is the first duty if government to keep us safe.

Yet, the Prime Minister cannot bring himself to admit the existence of such a link, even though the British intelligence services say:
"We judge that the conflict in Iraq has exacerbated the threat from international terrorism and will continue to have an impact in the long term. It has reinforced the determination of terrorists who were already committed to attacking the West and motivated others who were not."
Blair cannot get himself to admit that there is a causal link. More...

America + Iraq War = 7x More Worldwide Terror
War has Increased Terrorism Sevenfold Worldwide

MotherJones

fatal_jihadist_attacks.gif

...The rate of fatal terrorist attacks around the world by jihadist groups, and the number of people killed in those attacks, increased dramatically after the invasion of Iraq. Globally there was a 607 percent rise in the average yearly incidence of attacks (28.3 attacks per year before and 199.8 after) and a 237 percent rise in the fatality rate (from 501 to 1,689 deaths per year). A large part of this rise occurred in Iraq, the scene of almost half the global total of jihadist terrorist attacks. But even excluding Iraq and Afghanistan—the other current jihadist hot spot—there has been a 35 percent rise in the number of attacks, with a 12 percent rise in fatalities. More...

Why Cheney Lost It When Joe Wilson Spoke Out

By Ray McGovern | Truthout

Testimony at the Libby trial showed a vice president obsessed with retaliating against former ambassador Joseph Wilson for writing, in the New York Times op-ed section on July 6, 2003, that intelligence had been "twisted" to justify attacking Iraq. How to explain why the normally stoic, phlegmatic Cheney went off the deep end?

Libby: "Fall Guy" For The Real Criminals
Faces 25 years in prison while the real war criminals have end of their terms in sight

Steve Watson | Infowars.net

While Scooter Libby faces sentencing after being convicted of four counts of perjury and obstruction of justice, the figureheads of the US and British governments will see out their terms despite voluminous amounts of more damning evidence that proves they have consistently plotted and lied to sell an illegal occupation to their respective populations.

As Editor & Publisher reported, a spokesman for the jury that convicted Libby told reporters immediately afterward that many felt sympathy for him and believed he was only the "fall guy."

Denis Collins said that "a number of times" they asked themselves, "what is HE doing here? Where is Rove and all these other guys....I'm not saying we didn't think Mr. Libby was guilty of the things we found him guilty of. It seemed like he was, as Mr. Wells [his lawyer] put it, he was the fall guy."

He said they believed that Vice President Cheney did "task him to talk to reporters."

And While Libby faces years in prison, Cheney may step down and retire at any moment, no doubt going on to live out his days profiting from his Halliburton war fund and shooting old men in the face for fun. More...

War in Afghanistan Nears 'Tipping Point'

By Richard Halloran | Real Clear Politics

They call it "the other war" and it has begun to explode again after a winter of relative quiet.

This is the war in Afghanistan that has long been overshadowed by the conflict in Iraq in arms, money and political debate. But it is no less bitter and is equally, if not more, vital to the worldwide war on terror. Now, says an American officer who has fought in that war, it is coming to a "tipping point."

Wilson Responds: Bush And Cheney Must Explain Why They Outed My Wife

Posted by Nico | ThinkProgress

Ambassador Joseph Wilson offered his first response to the Scooter Libby verdict during a conference call today.

“Now that this trial is over,” Wilson said, “the president and the vice president owe the country a much broader explanation of their own actions.” Wilson called on them both to release the transcripts of their discussions with Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald, and called on Bush specifically to apologize for overseeing the outing of his wife:
I also learned today that the president was quoted as saying that he was sorry for Mr. Libby and his family. I wish that he would express his sorrow for what has happened to my wife, whose career was destroyed as a consequence of this, and also to the service people of this country who are fighting in a war that now very clearly was justified by lies and disinformation.

‘Where’s Rove? Where are these other guys?’
Juror says Libby was guilty but was set up to take the fall in Plame probe

By Alex Johnson | MSNBC

The jurors who convicted I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby believed Vice President Dick Cheney’s former chief of staff was set up as a fall guy, a juror said Tuesday, but they had no alternative to finding him guilty in the leak of the identity of a classified CIA operative.

“I will say there was a tremendous amount of sympathy for Mr. Libby on the jury,” said the juror, Denis Collins, a former newspaper reporter.

“It was said a number of times: ‘What are we doing with this guy here? Where’s Rove? Where are these other guys?’ ” Collins said, referring to Deputy White House Chief of Staff Karl Rove, who was identified during the investigation as one of the senior officials who revealed the identity of the operative, Valerie Plame, to journalists.

Heaven help us: George reportedly is thinking again

Pmcarpenter Blog

Sheik Abdul Sattar Buzaigh al-Rishawi embodies all the (foreseeable) unforeseeable consequences and ultimate, self-defeating futility of America's geopolitical-military strategizing in Iraq. For he is the potential face of Afghanistan's Osama bin Laden, circa 1980s. For he is our friend. For now.

A Sunni Arab, Sheik Abdul Sattar leads a tribal militia opposed to the departed Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia. So rumor has it that the U.S. is bankrolling the sheik's larger organization, the Anbar Salvation Council, an alliance of his and 24 other tribes similarly opposed to al Qaeda's jihadist fundamentalism.

Bush Record Of Illegalities Suggests Possible Role In 9/11 WTC, Pentagon Strikes

By Sherwood Ross

The trouble with thinking 9/11 was an inside job staged by George W. Bush & Co. is that it defies belief any U.S. president might be capable of such an iniquitous crime against his own people.

Yet, subsequent Bush actions, such as lying the nation into war against Iraq, makes one wonder if the man didn’t create the 9/11 massacres to justify his attacks on Afghanistan, Iraq, and Iran.

After all, his record reveals him to be a serial liar, warmonger, tyrant, torturer, and usurper of his peoples’ civil liberties. Just off the top, here are some illegal GWB actions that betray what he is really about. More...

BBC's 9/11 Yellow Journalism Backfires
Building 7 becomes the Achilles heel of the official conspiracy theory

Paul Joseph Watson | Prison Planet

The BBC's Conspiracy Files documentary hit piece and their flustered attempts to adopt damage control over questions about why their correspondent reported the collapse of Building 7 before it happened, have only provoked a firestorm of new interest in 9/11 truth and exalted questions surrounding WTC 7 to the point where it is now the Achilles' heel of the official conspiracy theory.

The BBC was forced to issue a second response on Friday afternoon following a barrage of criticism against their initial effort to dismiss the Building 7 fiasco and their claim that they had mysteriously lost all footage from BBC World's 9/11 coverage. More...

10 False Flags that Changed the World

Joe Crubaugh Blog

At it’s simplest, the term false flag means pretending to be the enemy.

The name comes from ships and armies that, in previous centuries, deceived their foes by displaying another country’s flag.

These days, false flag activities are much more sophisticated…and debauched. These aren’t your granddaddy’s covert operations...

Wanker of the Decade (UK)

By Chris Floyd

From the Guardian (and via a ripped-off concept from Atrios), we give you the UK wanker not just of the day, the week, the month or the year, but surely the whole decade. It is, of course, none other than the rear half of the oh-so-Christian Coalition, Tony Blair, captured here in his palmy student days at St John's College, Oxford. The child, as they say, is father to the man.
Gesture Politics: Young Blair Revealed in Full (Guardian)
Excerpt: Disconcerting photos from days gone by can often come back to haunt us. But this one, for a long period, remained at most, a mildly interesting snapshot of the prime minister's younger years.

From the waist up - that is.

Media Blacklists BBC Fiasco; Google, Digg Censor 9/11 Truth
News 24 'timestamp' video disappears from Google Video, despite the fact it's under 30 seconds in length and clearly constitutes fair use, Digg lets small minority of morons decide its content

Paul Joseph Watson | Prison Planet

The crowned kings of censorship Google have "pulled" the News 24 "timestamp" video that shows the BBC reporting the collapse of Building 7 26 minutes before it happened. Meanwhile, the establishment media continues to ignore the WTC 7 farce as a whole, including the inconceivable notion that BBC World have mysteriously lost all their 9/11 footage.

Despite the fact that the clip is under 30 seconds in length and clearly constitutes fair use, Google yanked the video last night after it was prominently featured in our article yesterday. We have replaced the video with a You Tube composite of both the "Jane Standley" footage and the News 24 clip, but for how long this stays active remains to be seen. More...

A nightmare without end
Shahajan Janjua's story is a glimpse of what the war on terror means for young British Asian men

Victoria Brittain | The Guardian

How does a young man from west London find himself landed in a Kenyan police station, hanging from his wrists, his feet tied to buckets of freezing water? How does he find himself, soon after, being dined by MI5 officers at a Nairobi hotel one moment, then imprisoned underground in the desert the next?

Americans Have Lost Their Country

By Paul Craig Roberts | ICH

The Bush-Cheney regime is America’s first neoconservative regime. In a few short years, the regime has destroyed the Bill of Rights, the separation of powers, the Geneva Conventions, and the remains of America’s moral reputation along with the infrastructures of two Muslim countries and countless thousands of Islamic civilians. Plans have been prepared, and forces moved into place, for an attack on a third Islamic country, Iran, and perhaps Syria and Hezbollah in Lebanon as well. More...

The long road back to freedom from Zionism

Xymphora

Five countries – the U. S., Britain, Australia, Canada and New Zealand – were forced to bend over and spread ’em as a result of the U. S. forcing its ‘allies’ to conform to Benjamin Netanyahu’s ‘war on terror’ in the wake of the September 11 attacks. All five victims of Zionist propaganda had to create horrific Orwellian legislation to oppress Muslims (Muslims are, of course, the direct target of the ‘war on terror’ legislation). Now, Canada is taking the long road back to freedom.
